Training

We offer in-house hazmat training. 

 We are a  Safety training association dedicated to providing high quality instruction  which fulfills many of the training requirements mandated by OSHA, DOT, EPA and VDOT.  

TIMS a Virginia State Police tow operator required class is  designed to make first responders aware of safe, quick clearance strategies for Traffic Incident Management.  It gives detailed instruction and examples that involves clearing an incident scene as soon as practical to restore normal traffic flow while also optimizing operational efficiency across first-responders involved in an incident. VAPTOW is proud to be able to provide this class free of cost  to all entities and organizations. 

 An introduction training class designed for temporary traffic control in Virginia work zones and incidents for individuals who are relatively inexperienced in this area. It teaches concepts, techniques, and practices in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices specific to the Commonwealth. This course has become a requirement in most contracts for service through VDOT.  VAPTOW is honored to be able to provide this in-house training course 

A custom built Virginia Tower Safety class is offered in-house that provides current Virginia rules and regulations for towing and recovery in the commonwealth. The course also provides general tower safety and operations while on the job. A recommended class for all operators in the state. 

A class that looks at the overall operations of a VA. T.R.I.P. incident and shows different ideas and outside the box thinking to operate safer and achieve faster lane clearance times. This class satisfies the T.R.I.P. two year C.E. Training requirements. 

Working with one of the best law firms in the state we are excited to be able to offer classes that inform and impower the towing community. We feel being up to date on current rules and regulations keep the tower and the community safer.

We love to show off our skills and equipment. We have a specialized class to show how we as a special trained towing and recovery company can assist in many different aspects of a scene, from Hazmat, Traffic, Patient Extraction and MORE. Our membership is always excited and honored to help our community.
